#15 - Silk
Threads shriek and warp and give way against the dresser; bruises are her favorite kind of muscle memory.
#25 - Mask
Her world is about that band of silk, powerless and smiling--always smiling--she never cries, even when he reaches up and rips it loose.
#35 - Fever
He's too warm no matter what he says, and she's never been nurturing before, never been kind before, never been useful before, at all, ever, and this does not prove anything, this useless poultry soup and the fact that he can hardly move to drink it; she is not thinking of how completely ridiculous it is, though he's the one who laughs.
#45 - Eclipse
Every time she lets her sister win, he's there to dress her wounds.
