Different fandoms? Oops. Here, have them in vague chronological order backward, including ships for fandoms I'm no longer in or only in to converse with the awesome people I met there. Also, please note that I pay no attention to the / direction.

Name 5 things from science fiction's vision of the future that you wish you had now.

Medical Tricorders. (Seconded.) No more bouncing between doctors as they struggle to locate the problem. Just an easy sensor sweep. And NO LONGER will middle aged men have to fear the silver wand. XD

While we're at it...

Organ Bank. Cloning adapted to specific body parts. They'd make you a new one and slap it in there, and the rejection profile would be nil, 'cause it's YOURS. For cancer patients ALONE, this is the ultimate second chance. (Biggest limitation: they can't build/copy a consciousness, so there's no replacing brains.)

Holodeck! (Seconded, again). It's a noninvasive version of the Matrix dreamworld. I want to BE AT the building of the pyramids and Aragorn's coronation and the fall of the Bastille. (*Off-key* one of these things, is nothing like the others. XD) The Last Unicorn would be the most achingly beautiful thing, happening around you. And then? Write your own scenarios.

Life Extension Treatments. I'd love to live to meet my great-grandchildren.

Any sort of all-encompassing Library. Most fandoms have an equivalent. Electronic or paper, I don't care which; I want access to all the books in the galaxy. *Squee.* ^_^
