I have the Six Partitas, by Bach.
This clavichord, this creature, is staking territory in my brain. I require more.
Mere declaration. Not making a point, not making a request. Expect nothing, care for nothing; it's simple want.
I always pick up the ones with something to prove. All day at work, I get the people on the phone who don't realize interns are unpaid and powerless, and that if they'd just BE QUIET for a second, I could transfer them to someone who can actually HELP THEM.
But oh, no, they must growl at me for ten to fifteen minutes each about Their Dire Problem and How Displeased They Are.
I LOVE THE SOUND OF THIS THING. This is a thing I have waited for.
The thing I've loved most about Middle Ages studies since I was...fuck, eight years old?...was their music, the early forms of instruments and notation.
I then spend awhile not caring, pounce on Baroque, and wait very patiently for the Classical period discussions to BE OVER so I can get to ragtime and Tin Pan Alley waltzes.
They do not teach electronica/EBM/techno/industrial/foo, yet. XD
Do you know what would be awesome? The Willow theme on clavichord.
Lolz? Ex dee.
