Trek (Etc.)
Jan. 1st, 2008 12:12 pmI woke up perhaps a half-hour ago, with my shoulder in intense pain. It hurts so much I'm having difficulty typing. I don't really remember what I dreamed, but as I was waking up I had the thoughts: "Who the hell would want to be like Princess Leia? She doesn't DO anything in the movies. All she does is manage to get herself kidnapped. Twice." And then, as I got up and made coffee, it occurred to me that Han had also been taken hostage, etc. etc. at least twice.
I think the only one who "allowed himself" to be captured, or in any other way "triumphed" over his captors in his victim-state, was actually Luke.
This is not my fandom, so it's odd that I'm puzzling over it. I'm puzzling many odd things as the clock inches down to my first quarter-century of life.
I is Trekker. More specifically, I is "EU" books-mostly, strongly-TOS-preferenced Trekker. I'm also one of the few Trekkers breathing that is a fan of Voyager. That's the one I grew up with, and it's the only one with a chick captain, and mmmmmm Seven; fuck all you haters, 'cause that show is bomb.
McCoy is my favorite, hands down, followed by Uhura (COMMUNICATIONS WHUT WHUT), followed by Spock, followed by Data (yus pls robosex), Ael (she's my very favorite Mary Sue <3), and an assortment on down the line that 'Wars people will most definitely not care about.
I don't like DS9, and you can't make me, so shut up. =P
I never watched Enterprise. Couldn't make myself care about it, even though Dr. Sam was in it. Quantum Leap! I was mad into that show when I was six.
Yeah.
Birthday present to self = BT of MK: Defenders of the Realm. Google it, and be happy.
