I really wanted to recommend Imperial.
And, having sat up to finish it, I tentatively sorta can, kinda sorta.
It's good--not HOLY SHIT BEST FIC EVER, but solidly Good Enough--until Chapter Twenty. Massive sudden drastic OOC BOMB dumped all over the fic. (It also, at this point, contains less Han. Which makes it increasingly useless to me as the plot progresses. Anyway.)
Vader meets Captain Piett in Chapter Teensomething; Mara Jade makes an appearance as of Chapter Twenty-Two; Giant OOC BOMB achieves Hiroshima proportions--detonates in "Sparkly Wish Fulfillment, Or: in Which Vader is Eventually Redeemed".
Han has gossip time in Chapter Twenty-Four; universe implodes.
Chapter Twenty-Six: Mara is an absolute unmitigated frozen stone-cold bitch. Also, Han "nearly faints".
God DAMN IT I really wanted to like this fic. *Wibble.*
And I still sort of do, anyway. It's how I wanted the movies to be instead when I saw them for the first time in like third grade. XD
