Some things are so clearly an appeal for my superior powers of canon-rape that I simply must indulge them.
In this game I know called seek and hide
Oh, I'd rather take than give
And how interesting it was, what they said, keeping one's trap shut. It was a little late for that.
"So," she said, "you came to rescue me. How noble."
"He's using you."
"And you're not?" It was easy to make a point, this close, pressure and body heat."Don't insult me."
"Not everything is about you!"
"Oh. Oh, you're right!" She made a great sweeping gesture that had her nearly falling out of bed. "Everything is not about me! Everything is about you. I should remember my place!" And she burrowed under the covers and turned away.
"I love you." Her hand was sure and steady. "Someday you'll understand that."
There was a stifled noise from under the duvet that could have been a sob.
