I'm on the NIN mailing list and I just got an impersonally quasi-personalized nonpartisan message FROM TRENT REZNOR telling me to go vote.

(Been there, done that! ^_^)

This is the man who laughed and said, "Florida? Come on now, y'all've GOT to get your shit together!" and then tore into "God Given".

I don't care if it's mass semi-spam. I am geeking out stupidly hard right now.

ASDFLKGHARERWUGHSDFDS. TRENT. <3

At this point, I don't care who wins! I'm just. So excited to see more than white males on ANY national ticket for the highest offices in my country.

ETA: I meant all the above, simultaneously. I do vaguely remember Geraldine Ferraro. I am not an idiot. And I am not a Third Waver. I could foam at the mouth about considering myself a spiritual successor of the Second Wave, but that way lies audience eyerolling and potential defriendings. OH NOZE LE GASP.

*Bubble bubble bubble bounce.*

It is pretty cool how either way we go, we make history. Obama is probably greater history (president versus vice president; possibly black versus female is more noteworthy, too). From early on in this race, I figured we were going to have someone other than a white male in office, since I figured that there's probably no way the Republicans will actually win this time. That left either Obama or Hilary. I'm just so so so glad it's going to be Obama rather than Hilary. (I HATE HER.)

Pres > VP, but that's par for the course. It's a matter of rank. ^_~

I voted for Rudy, and since then I've just sorta been waiting to see who of all these people I didn't nominate will win.

I was amazed that, what with all the derogatory Photoshopping, no one did Palin up as Marie Antoinette. It would have been awesome. *Swoon.* XD

Apparently there are Palin paper dolls, but not one of them has a wedding dress, so I can't make Non-Canonical No On 2 (http://www.sayno2.com/) Sarah. =(

Hilary is evil. I'm so glad she didn't make it. That was my first ever actual moral crisis: I unequivocally want, and believe we deserve to have, a woman President, but I could not make myself vote for her. Or even like her. Or anything she stood for. And her healthcare plan was really important, but I just HATED her so much I couldn't care.

I despise the pro-life angle, but, pretty Palin packaging! Assuming the impossible occurs, well, I can always sue for my RvW rights on a state level ^_~

...Obama's not painful on the eyes, either, come to think of it. And Europe loves him, so, if he wins, our international standing will finally improve.

Seriously, I either get four years of Palin smiling and nodding at everything McCain says, or I get four years of America having some foreign cred again and maybe some actual alternative energy legislation. Whoever wins, that's awesome smiles on my TV for me to appreciate. ^_^

Long, rambly response ftw. XD

What's this "No On 2" thing?

In Colorado, we apparently had proposed "end affirmative action" and "human life begins at conception" amendments, and I just found out what the numbers stood for today, and I guess that's why people were so angry about them. XD But we went Obama, so the liberals can't burn us. ^_~

There was also one proposed amendment that made it illegal for your employer to force you to be in a union, and somehow the no people were spinning that into the big businessmen taking rights away from people, and I was like bwuh? If it was making it illegal to be IN a union, yes. This is the opposite thing, people.

I hate unions. It's like that election-time mob thinking ALL THE TIME.

I'm just so happy I get to stop seeing a giant Obama face on my Pandora all the time. Yes, literally the only thing I care about with this election is that it be over.

Oh! It's "no" to a state constitutional proviso against gay marriage, because we already HAVE a proviso against gay marriage. That's like saying "Do you want fries with that?" twice in a row.

Actually, I just voted "no" on all the amendments; there was nothing important on any of them, just cost and waste--and that's basically what pork is.

We've finally got a black President! It's safe for me to go back to ignoring my TV now. AND all the kids at school will finally shut up. It's triple-dipped win. XD

Unions are Mafia, they have been since they were CREATED, only, back then it was the Irish "mafia", and it cost one hundred American dollars for "the big job" (making your rival...disappear). I love me some History Channel. It gives me more reason to hate organized stupidity. ^_^

How does that go? Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups? Yes.

It's done! We can all go home now. XD

Wow, all hail the power of Florida. XD

So, there was no more giant Obama face. But my Splashdown radio station kicked up an Obama SONG, and I was out of skips, and it was horrible. Why won't it be over? *wah*

The really FANTASTIC part? It passed. So did the tax amendment that sucks another write-off away from Bob Homeowner. >_<

I can't say I'm surprised. I just wish my vote had counted for anything that I actually chose in the entire fucking election. Stupid FUCKING blue state morons, where the hell were you? You can make my state "yours" and elect a guy with no discernible plan, but you can't defend my rights. >E

A WHAT? Those exist? Oh god. >_< I can literally only imagine. D:

Ah, see, this is why I didn't vote: so I don't have to get worked up about it. I, in fact, no longer have a right to get worked up about it. Freedom! XD

I can only guess it was a benefit song.
