AHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA.
Ah. *Gasp.* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Wait, you're not kidding? Does not impact the hilarity. *Dissolves in giggles. Again.*
THE IRL WANK IS GOING TO BE EPIC.
Popcorn.gif? Is it bad that this is the entirety of my reaction?
Anyone that will give this a Pulitzer and make this into a film, will give away a similarly worthy trinket to an equally qualified person without a second thought. Which implies they had a first thought, but there you are.

Date: 2009-10-09 06:14 pm (UTC)I just... I don't even know man. If they wanted to pick someone to be encouraging they should have picked someone like Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, that's all I'm saying. I personally think that a lot of it is snobby paternalistic Europeans rewarding America for finally not becoming so "barbaric" by electing the farthest-left president we've ever had (though call me about progressivism when France elects a Muslim PM or the UK an Asian) and the usual natter about Our Lord and Savior Barackus Christ.

Date: 2009-10-09 06:34 pm (UTC)Personally feel that the dog-and-pony-show, pinko cheeseater endorsement move is nothing but a mad grab to distract the sheep from his complete inability to get anything done.
Although, in the case of his whacko Big Brother healthcare package, that's probably a good thing.
I just wish he'd do ONE damn thing he's promised about clean energy. Seriously, anything at all.
Still waiting.
OMG YOU ARE ALSO REPUBLICAN? *clings* <3

Date: 2009-10-09 06:58 pm (UTC)I'm pretty economically/socially middle-of-the-road (I've got some extreme opinions on both sides, so it balances out :P), but vote Republican because of some very strong opinions on abortion.
I don't care if a presidential candidate shits rainbows and the sky opens up to a choir of angels whenever he raises his right hand, if he thinks it's all right to deliver half a baby and then open up a pair of scissors inside its skull (which is what they do in third-term abortions) when they could just deliver it fully, send it to the NICU, and have it adopted out (clearly the mother doesn't want it, and viability starts at about 24 weeks and is getting earlier and earlier), to the point of considering making its legality federal law, he is not getting my vote.
(I hope you're still chill with me. I know LJ has Thoughts On Abortion, but while I can understand the logic for allowing it before 24 weeks, I just don't get late-term abortions.)

Date: 2009-10-15 11:23 pm (UTC)I'm fine with every kind of abortion (pill, saltwater, d&c) EXCEPT the skullcrushy brainsquish kind.
SKULLCRUSHY = NOT OKAY. D:
...I...thought the really squicky late-term stuff was illegal in our state? *Blinku.*

Date: 2009-10-15 11:28 pm (UTC)anyway I have finally decided to be honest on LJ and have been hoping it wouldn't lose me friends. Just because I say I understand the logic doesn't mean I'm fine with it, but I'm not going to condemn most people, because they don't think the same way I do.

Date: 2009-10-09 11:45 pm (UTC)This is still my reaction.
Although my dad once opined that Jimmy Carter was the worst president ever, and he got a Peace Prize, so maybe it's just what they do. XD

Date: 2009-10-10 01:49 am (UTC)I've always wanted to get a Vaio and perhaps by graduate school I will have managed to save enough cash to buy one. Nice to know they really are worth the money. Sometimes it is nice to splurge on onesself, but then there is the guilt of going over budget and "wasting"the money. In my personal experience my laptop has a lot of trouble with Vista but the home PC does not which frustrates me and has turned me against it.
