A new state of mind or a shift in personal identity. Must change old way of thinking. Low self-esteem, cruelty. Negative male self. Negative female self. You are avoiding a situation that you do not think is conquerable.

Oh, I found a lost puppy and I took him home
Since then he's agreed to leave me alone
If you prefer worldishmaking conceit:
What am I to do, oh what am I to do?
She'll be the end of me for sure,
Oh what am I to do?
(Which is the only part most of them can remember raging drunk. The pronoun and most of the descriptors are interchangeable, but generally it's about a girl.)
