Published incontrivertible proof that Touched By an Uncle MAKES YOU GAY HAHAHA.

My brain. It is broken.

I just, I just I my comprehension it fails me. I lose. I cannot grok.

Is it a book on why bad touchings are bad? Or why gays are bad? OR. Is it only GAY bad touching that's bad?

And it was Daddy's touching that finally made him feel better? What?

I have not yet Met Anyone, which is odd, because I'm ordinarily a sort of magnet for gay males.

I'm currently playing Yes, I Don't Want Your Pamphlet with the Library info desk, because EVERYONE CAN SEE YOU PICKING UP THE GIANT DAYGLO LGBT BROCHURE, and that sort of defeats the purpose of stealth. I'm also considering free therapy. The two are unrelated; I don't think I can stand nine more weeks of omg!Tenchi!HALP! gasp-attacks.

I took it as more of a "This is why Bobby thought he was gay; maybe it's why you think you're gay, too." kind of book.

Uncle Teddy was a tiny bit of a tangent to the real problem of Dad not being around and having any contact with Bobby. Touch is very important to most humans, and to have none is actually kind of unnerving.

I hear you on that one; I'm a physical person. I've really had to work on the notion that there are people that don't like to be touched. I'm the first person to shove a hand out for a handshake in almost any group.

...Then again. XD

I'm pretty sure it's "These Are the Only Two Reasons We Will Accept For Why You Think You Are Gay, Now Go Fix the Problem". I've seen the lack-of-Dad's-affection argument before in comic form in a bible some guys were handing out outside of my high school. But, yeah, it's clearly supposed to be aimed at telling people who are gay why they are "sick" and convincing them to get over it. Why they've decided to target this at such a young audience is quite beyond me and quite disturbing.

The sooner they reach them, the straighter they'll become? Is my best honest guess as to the hope behind the text.

It's kind of like the "just don't wear shorts or knee-length skirts, and rape will absolutely never happen to you, because girls who wear modest, toe-length caftans of doom and/or chaste, loose-fitting trousers never ever get raped EVER" self-defense brochures my church used to have.

I can understand that, naturally, everyone wants the best for their children. I just...can't get past the approach.

I read it and I was like, "what the hell?" The fact that it is geared to children makes it all the more disturbing.
