School was so awesome, because no one knew what the hell I was talking about.

So, what, four or five years before Nightmare Before Christmas was really big.

I don't like or get that movie. Not even slightly.

YES, okay? I'm painfully aware that Danny Elfman did all the songs. I wanted so badly to be amazed and left the theater feeling like someone had taken a shit in my ears.

I'm still traumatized.

It's the only Burton movie I DON'T like, and I've been a fan of his longer than most of his "fans" have even been alive.

So, of course, it's their cornerstone flick now. They like it more than Beetlejuice.

Which sums up our problems with each other quite nicely.

Just try to get a "Tim Burton fan" to sit through Big Fish. It's my personal litmus test. XD

I was disappointed with Big Fish. I felt misled with it. The previews made it all cute and fluffy with fantastical physics because it was told through perspective, and then they had to throw in the dying father and the son that didn't believe him and OMG drama. Blah.

And I hear you on Nightmare. I like the movie, but I don't own one bit of merchandise from it. Save for a wristband that has Jack's face on it. I got that for free, though. XD I don't get the obsession. Beetlejuice was awesome. I even watched the cartoon as a kid. :D

Hmm. It's not my favorite; it's just the only one I can think of that doesn't have the "things" in it that seem to induce fangirl gaga. Like, if they can SIT through it and not die, then I can tell we have a much better chance of getting along, type deal. You know? ^_~

I was kind of...empty feeling at the end. I really liked the first half--it was this Southern swamp folktale on acid. And then, yeah, it unraveled pretty bad. So I definitely get what you're saying. :/

Hey, since you're the first person I've met that's reasonable about Nightmare, can you tell me what you liked about it? (I'm not trying to take the piss/be a bitch; I'm curious. ^_^)

Ghostbusters is the main reason I'm even trying to get a doctorate.

I dunno; I like a lot of what gets called "goth" now, but I don't dress up and it's not intense or serious to me at all. But I'm not sure if that's because it doesn't matter to me, or just because I don't dress up. XD

With aNBC, I like all of it except the part where he fights Oogie Boogie. It just seems very, "Oh, right, need to have a climax scene." to me. The singing songs aren't too thrilling but the BG music is fitting. Then again, I despise musicals. :D But I haven't watched the thing in a few years. XP

Yes it happened. XD I even had the Burger King toys and the lunchbox. I loved Lydia's red outfit.

"Dressing goth" to me/for me is throwing on black pants, a band shirt, possible fishnet or arm warmers, and, if I remember, black make up. I'm very bad about remembering the makeup because I put it on before i leave the house, if I remember to do it. XD I can't wear my spikes anymore because I only dress up for concerts and club events, and... yeah, spikes are dangerous OMG :'( Let's not talk about the 5' wallet chain. I can barely wear my arm warmers because they have chains on them. Such a terrorist I are. :D Oh oh, and the Payless work boots. I'm still trying to find a pair of Steel toes that I like.
