PRESENTS! I get to give them and that is totally fucking awesome. Like get to think and plan something perfect and the EXECUTION. Which in all it's forms is totally awesome.
And I like making Christmas dinner cause I have the time and energy to cook something really special. AND EAT CHOCOLATE ALL DAY.
Now that I've gotten over my sense of materialism from childhood, I stopped caring about getting and giving gifts. Unless there's something that a person wants, I really don't see the point. It's just one more thing to dust and pack up.
I like the tree; I like the smell of pine in the house and I like the lights twinkling in the dark room as we watch TV. It doesn't feel like Christmas without the twinklies, and it was never driven into my heart as much as it was last year when we didn't get a tree. So I made one out of a wrought-iron plant shelf and wrapped the lights around it. XD
I don't like decorating much because we don't have a whole lot of company come over, so what's the point? More shit to store, more shit to put up and tear down, more shit to dust. But the tree is a must for me. I'll decorate the crap out of that thing. :D
Seeing family is good, the feasting is great, bundling up and watching movies by the fire... I like the coziness of the holiday. It's not very religious for me; that's all in the spring. *nods*
