See, this is why I need some help. I am looking for the "hardcore funk", heavily retro sound.
Is James Brown "it"? (And I guess Rick James, biiiiiitch, though he's later, and DUH Marvin Gaye.) There's got to be more.
I do not like the new stuff. I want to, but I do not.
